MythDesk overview
A local-first personal AI agent for Windows that controls your real PC and never forgets where it left off.
MythDesk is a local-first personal AI agent for Windows. Its agent, Myth, controls your real PC (apps, files, your logged-in sessions), works in the background, asks before anything risky, and checkpoints every step so a shutdown, crash or reboot never loses progress. You can talk to it from your phone over Telegram.
Status: pre-alpha
Building toward v0.1, "It never forgets".
Principles
- Your computer, your sessions. No cloud VM.
- Any model. Bring your own key or run local models. See Models & BYOK.
- Never forgets. A durable task engine commits every step to SQLite and resumes after reboot.
- Asks first. Allow / ask / block rules. See Approvals & Guardian.
- Free and global. Free for personal use, no region lock, English / 中文 / Bahasa Melayu.
- Your data stays home. Secrets live in Windows Credential Manager, never in files or prompts.
The desktop app
A window with Chat, Tasks, Activity, Skills and Settings, plus a big Stop button (the kill switch) and this month's spend. It is a thin client: the Myth service serves a local API on 127.0.0.1:47821, and only the logged-in Windows user can read its token. If Myth isn't running, the window offers to start it.
