Install MythDesk

Developer preview setup for MythDesk on Windows.

A public installer is coming soon. The source repository is currently private; these steps describe the developer preview for those with access.

Requirements

Windows
Python 3.12

Quick start (developer preview)

From the project folder:

py -3.12 -m venv .venv; .venv\Scripts\activate
pip install -e ".[windows,dev]"
mythd init                       # writes a starter config.toml
mythd secret set GEMINI_API_KEY  # stored in Windows Credential Manager
mythd run

mythd run starts Myth and serves the local API the desktop app talks to.

Start after reboot

mythd install-autostart

With autostart installed, an interrupted task resumes on its own after a reboot.

The desktop app

The desktop app is a Tauri window. To build it:

cd desktop
npm install
npx tauri build

Try the demo

The demo organises a folder, crashes on purpose, then resumes:

python examples/organise_downloads.py --folder $HOME\Downloads --crash-after 3   # dies mid-task
python examples/organise_downloads.py --folder $HOME\Downloads                   # resumes, reports
